BACK STORY [this should be detailed]:
Born to a pair of wealthy, Ashley and James Duvant, Kaelen didn't want for anything as a child. His father was a successful surgeon, his mother one of the top attorneys in the city and they made their money the hard way. Ashley and James had first met each other in New York when they were 16 and 18 respectively, they'd bumped into each other again when Ashley was looking into a malpractice case in the hospital that James worked at. When he testified as the witness who won her trial, she couldn't help but take him out for lunch to catch up on old times. 2 months later she was pregnant with her first child, Kaelen's older bother, Darren. They got married, and Kaelen came soon after. He was named after his grandfather (Kaelen) and his two parents (hence the middle names Ashton and James). He was born in Aspire, and has spent all his life there. Leaving only a few times for family vacations and school trips. He knew the city like the back of his hand by the time he was 16.

At an early age he showed a certain aptitude for reading, writing, and vocabulary. English in general. Though he was no prodigy, he was good, and he went to the state Vocab finals as his high school champ 6 years in a row. It was an accomplishment he would have put on a college transcript, had he chosen to go there. Instead he chose to pursue his writing, leaving his parents and straight A student older brother behind. He lived in a small, shitty apartment from 18-20, but just recently bought a nice one in a more respectable building with the money he'd saved up. While he's still working on writing that novel, he enjoys his job at the local bar and the new friends he's made since he grew up and left home. It's a new world and a new day, and Kaelen's ready for anything.
